Mayflower Theatre Update
While the challenges in this year keep coming I am pleased that we are seeing some light ahead for live performance. We are determined to offer live experiences as long as they are in a safe environment and were thrilled to be able to put SIX on sale for a two week run in January 2021. We are only able to do this on a socially distanced seating plan which reduces our capacity down from 2,271 seats to just 945 per performance. We are allowed to do this safely on Stage 4 of the government guidance on reopening, however this model is not financially viable in the long term and we look to reopen fully when we can at Stage 5.
With this in mind, we are hopeful that we should be able to reopen fully in April and therefore this has had a knock on effect to our early 2021 programme. We are in the process of rescheduling February performances until later in the year but, in the meantime, we will be putting on more shows with socially distanced seating in their place in February and March. We also have an incredibly exciting announcement to make on Monday – so watch out in the media or on our social channels
If you come to one of our performances that has socially distanced seating, you can be rest assured we have your safety as our number one priority. We have met all the criteria to be awarded UK Theatre's 'See It Safely' mark. The mark certifies that we are complying with the latest Government and Covid-19 industry guidelines, to ensure the safety of our staff and audiences. You can find out more here about the measures we have been putting in place ready for your visit, and what you will need to know beforehand. If you develop Covid-19 symptoms or have been asked to self-isolate after you have purchased your tickets then you can return or exchange your tickets up to 24 hours before a performance. If issues arise within 24 hours of the show, you can call or email us before the start of the performance to discuss your options.
Once again we are grateful to those customers who have either taken gift vouchers or donated their money to the theatre for cancelled shows. Your generosity is appreciated by every member of the team.
On behalf of the entire Mayflower team I thank you for your continued support and we look forward to seeing you all through the doors of the theatre in the very near future for live performances once again.
Very best wishes

Can I still buy tickets for other shows?
Yes! Tickets are on sale online for all available shows. We can't wait to open our doors once again to welcome you back into the building. With great new shows such as Waitress, Grease and Chicago now on sale for 2021 to look forward to, you can still treat yourself or your loved ones to live theatre.
I want to help support Mayflower Theatre – how do I go about that?
This is a challenging time for the arts industry and as an independent charity we receive no regular public funding, relying on support of our audiences to deliver our life-enhancing work both on stage and through our Mayflower Engage community and education activities. Your donation will help to support us, protect the theatre for people now and in the future and you can do this online.
