Mayflower Theatre named 52nd in list of Sunday Times 100 Best Not-For-Profit Organisations to work for
We have been named as 52nd best company to work for in this year’s Sunday Times list of the 100 best not-for-profit organisations. We are the only theatre in the UK to be named in this prestigious list.
The Sunday Times 100 Best Companies is the annual ranking of the cream of Britain's engaged and motivated workforces. The lists are widely acknowledged as the most extensive research into employee engagement carried out in this country.
The annual survey attracted 798 entries from companies around the UK, with Mayflower Theatre, the third largest presenting venue in the UK with 230 permanent staff and annual audiences of more than 500,000 – being ranked in 52nd place.
Our Chief Executive Michael Ockwell said, “We are all very proud that we have been ranked as 52nd in the top 100 companies after taking part for the very first time. Mayflower Theatre staff are dedicated to offering the best possible customer service and work hard to offer all our partners and supporters inspiring experiences. We believe in supporting them and ensuring their own experience is fulfilling, it is clear that a happy team can have such a positive impact on a business. As one of the top regional theatres in the country we owe all our success to our dedicated and committed staff and I am delighted we have achieved this accomplishment together.”
Staff at the theatre were asked questions over eight areas: My Manager, Leadership, My Company, Personal Growth, My Team, Giving Something Back, Fair Deal and Wellbeing. Of those employees surveyed 90% agreed that they felt proud to work for the organisation and 79% were happy with the pay and benefits they receive.
